About Triptic

Our story

It all started with an old family apartment that needed some love. We renovated it with care, and to help finance the work, we started renting it out. Airbnb, Booking, classifieds... we tried everything. Each time, something was off. Fees too high for travelers. Cold, soulless platforms. The feeling of never really knowing who we were opening our door to. We thought: "There has to be a better way."

When we hired property managers, same story. Will the sheets be ready? Will the keys be handed over on time? How do we coordinate without spending hours on it? We realized that behind every successful stay, there's a shared trust between three people: the traveler, the host, and sometimes someone behind the scenes making it all work.

And then, adventure called. A trip around the world. Nearly 30 countries, dozens of rentals, hundreds of encounters. We switched sides: travelers ourselves. We experienced the hours spent comparing listings, the anxiety of a door code that doesn't work at 11pm, the relief of a host who responds quickly and well. We understood that trust and responsiveness are everything. For a year, we also kept a travel journal for the charity L'Enfant à l'Hôpital. Every week, we shared our discoveries with hospitalized children: the endless white of the Uyuni salt flats, the giant tortoises of the Galápagos, the Bánh mì of Vietnam... For those children, an escape. For our loved ones, an appointment. For us, an epiphany: journeys are meant to be shared. We wanted to make that possible.

Triptic was born from all of this. From our slightly wonky apartment. From our struggles as hosts. From our wonders as travelers. And from that simple desire: to feel at home, wherever we are.
